Originally built in 1850 as the parish manse, the house combines traditional character with modern comforts, creating a unique lochside retreat full of warmth, atmosphere, and stunning scenery.

Whether you’re visiting for a peaceful escape, a wedding celebration, live music evening, or a weekend exploring Argyll’s west coast, The Shore House offers a slower pace of life shaped by the water, surrounding hills, and relaxed Scottish hospitality.

One of the most memorable parts of staying at The Shore House is the uninterrupted view across Loch Goil. From morning breakfasts beside the water to relaxed evenings in the lounge or terrace, the scenery becomes part of the experience itself.

The loch is constantly changing with the light, tide, weather, and wildlife. Boats drift across the water, seabirds soar overhead, and if you’re lucky, you may even spot seals close to the shoreline. Despite being just over an hour from Glasgow Airport, Lochgoilhead feels wonderfully peaceful and far removed from everyday life.

The Shore House is proudly owned and run by Billy and Liz, whose passion for hospitality has helped shape the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere guests return for time and time again. Alongside their dog Watson, they’ve created a place that feels personal, comfortable, and genuinely memorable - whether you’re staying for a weekend escape, attending a wedding, or simply stopping by for pizza and live music beside the loch.
