The Venue

A place that feels personal

The Shore House is designed for weddings that feel relaxed, welcoming, and genuinely memorable. Inside, original stone walls, oak beams, panoramic windows, and cosy lounge spaces create an atmosphere full of warmth and character.

Outside, the gardens lead directly towards the loch, offering panoramic views across the water and surrounding hills. From champagne receptions outdoors to quiet evening moments by the fire pit, the setting naturally becomes part of the experience itself.

Unlike traditional venues with rigid layouts or fixed styling, The Shore House offers the flexibility to shape the space around your vision, whether that means understated elegance, seasonal styling, or something entirely personal to you.

The Ceremony

Exchange vows beside the loch

Registered as an official wedding venue with Argyll & Bute registrars, The Shore House can host ceremonies both indoors and outdoors for up to 56 guests.

Our lochside garden offers an especially beautiful setting for outdoor ceremonies and photography, with uninterrupted views across Loch Goil and the surrounding Arrochar Alps. Indoors, the venue provides a warm and intimate atmosphere filled with natural light, exposed stone, and panoramic scenery.

Whether your ceremony is formal and traditional or relaxed and informal, we are bespoke and almost everything is possible.

The Reception

Relaxed celebrations with unforgettable views

From spring and summer receptions on the loch side terrace to candlelit winter gatherings indoors, every wedding at The Shore House is shaped around atmosphere, comfort, and connection.

Guests can enjoy drinks overlooking the loch, relaxed dining in the wedding suite, and evenings that flow naturally between the bar, lounge spaces, waterside terrace, and dance floor.

Our food offering, personalised touches, and intimate setting help create a celebration that feels less like a venue hire, and more like welcoming everyone into your own private Highland retreat.

Stay together

Turn your wedding into a full lochside escape

One of the most special parts of celebrating at The Shore House is having the opportunity to stay together before and after the wedding itself.

The house offers six individually designed bedrooms, including the attic family suite, allowing close friends and family to enjoy the full experience of the venue together. From slow breakfasts overlooking the loch to relaxed drinks the night before, the celebration naturally extends beyond a single day.

Additional accommodation is also available nearby for larger wedding parties.

Winter Weddings

Beautifully atmospheric winter celebrations

The Shore House is especially suited to winter weddings, when the surrounding landscape becomes even more dramatic and the interiors feel at their most cosy and intimate.

Log fires, candlelight, panoramic loch views, and relaxed evenings indoors create an atmosphere that feels deeply romantic and unmistakably Scottish. For couples looking for something different from a traditional summer wedding, winter at The Shore House offers something truly memorable.

Every wedding is different, and we’re always happy to tailor the experience around your plans.
